    Testimonial - Tiara

Tiara Toro's Story... I used to go to Boston Sports Club everyday and I usually did the same workouts everyday just because I had no idea how to vary my workouts and what else I could possibly do without looking like a lost soul. Someone I knew at the time was always talking about Crossfit and how he lost so much weight and got back into shape, and overall just how challenging it was. I've heard about Crossfit before that, but after talking to him I decided to research local boxes and give it a shot. It was so nerve wrecking walking into Crossfit Ares the first time because I had no idea what I was getting myself into. I thought to myself that there's no way I could ever survive the ....

    Testimonial Tuesday- Amanda M

Testimonial: Amanda Maderios I was looking for something new for me to try; I was working out regularly but i felt like i needed something more intense that would push me more. A co-worker was talking about CrossFit and I decided to give it a try. I have A LOT more confidence in myself. I never could even look at myself before now. I can now actually look at myself with positives about my body and that I am getting stronger. Before I would look at myself and hate what I saw; I would only see the flaws in my body. Now that I have started I see that I am not only loosing weight, but I am getting stronger. I was scared at first because I thought I was "too fat" to do ....

  • Dear Diary - the value of journaling to break through plateaus.

Let’s talk about progress. Progress is a moving target. As you travel along in your fitness quest, progress becomes more elusive. What comes so easily in the first months of training becomes a siege of effort, hard won, and even harder kept. Hitting this so-called “plateau” is the primary reason people become derailed from achieving their goals. You know what I’m talking about: the first month is great when you start working out. Your clothes fit better, the mirror is a pleasant surprise in the morning, and your body starts to look like it doesn’t really belong on the couch. It’s nothing but progress! But then it slows down and we get frustrated. We don’t want that to ....

I’m here to tell you that just because you are sore it doesn’t mean that you are making progress and just because you aren’t sore doesn’t mean you stopped making progress. No matter what your thoughts on soreness, there is much to be gained from understanding just why we get sore and what can be done ....
