Where were you born?
I was born in Methuen, MA and grew up in Lawrence, MA.
How did you get involved in fitness?
I played sports when I was younger (basketball, baseball, tennis), but it was not until I met fellow kickass CFA Coach Courtnee Barchus a few years ago and she introduced me to CrossFit that I became involved in fitness at this level. Back then, I was overweight and exhausted, I was sick and tired of being sick and tired. Once she brought me to CFA, I realized that my only option was to move forward and never look back.
Who or what inspires you to keep pushing yourself?
My partner Kyle and our kiddo Noah for sure. I take care of myself so I can be there for them 100%. And also, each person who walks into CFA. How can you not be inspired witnessing people pushing to be the best version of themselves they can be?
What is your favorite CrossFit workout?
Anything with body movements, gymnastics, and cardio!
What is your favorite HEALTHY meal?
My Breakfast Every Morning: vanilla protein shake with peanut butter, banana, and strawberries; half a green apple, half a grapefruit, wheat toast, a veggie egg muffin (when my partner makes them!), and a tall glass of iced green tea.
What is your favorite CHEAT meal?
Do I have to pick only one? 99’s Gold Fever wings and Uno’s Deep Dish Pizza.
What is one fun fact about you?
In addition to being a CFA coach, I’m also a teacher and an actor. I have been performing in staged shows for just under 20 years. I once starred in a one man show called The SantaLand Diaries where I memorized a 1 hour and 20 minute long monologue, and the character never left the stage the entire time.
What is your number one guilty pleasure?
Again, only one? Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups and Raw Cookie Dough.
What is your favorite quote?
“If you can’t love yourself, how in the hell are you gonna love somebody else?”
